It’s probably pretty obvious that I love photography. Capturing all the wonderful families and newborns of Raleigh and Wake Forest, NC is a serious dream come true. But what you may or may not know, is that my very favorite part of all of this madness is the feeling I get when I look at an image. I’m not talking about every single image, but there is usually at least one image from every session that hits me to my core and either brings tears to my eyes or makes me smile so much.

This mama-daughter duo loved each other so much and our time together in our Wake Forest family studio was simply amazing. But that second image below, that’s the one. That’s the one that immediately brought a smile to my face. That is the image that I could FEEL. I could feel what it’s like to have one of my kids wrap their arms so tightly around my neck and give me a hug that truly lasts forever.

And that’s my goal with my lifestyle newborn and family sessions. I always strive for the pretty images, and the images where everyone is looking and smiling at the camera, but my entire heart is searching and seeking out those feelings and emotions between people.
